The History of Kainos
The history of Kainos truly begins with the redemptive love of Christ for the entire world. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Real love is costly, and just as God’s love motivated Christ to come to redeem us from sin, so God’s love in our hearts motivates us also to care and love others in Christ’s love. God’s love extends to all in the world and He is able and willing to save and redeem any and everyone!
This movement began with a group of believers in Germany sharing the concerns they had about sexual trafficking and exploitation. For several months they met in prayer and then began to learn, strategize, prioritize, and organize. Others joined them with the same concern and in June 2014, Kainos was born as a non-profit charitable organization in Germany.
Through study and research, they became more and more involved with the topic and were shocked when they found out that Stuttgart, a seemingly friendly and safe city, is an international hotspot for sex tourism.
Each person who has been involved in Kainos, whether at its founding or later after it has been organized, has their own story as to how God put this issue of sexually trafficked and exploited persons on their hearts. Each story is precious, and, in fact, the entire ministry is a series of seeming “coincidences” where God intervened to give hope and help to needy people in this world.
Since then, the organization has not only grown, but the concept of our work has also developed steadily. More and more volunteers have gotten involved with Kainos and invested their gifts and skills in our work. We know that change in lives and in society is possible. Therefore, it is and remains our heart‘s desire to reach women in need, to give them hope and to accompany them into a new life, and to work with others to put an end to sexual trafficking and exploitation.
